Our E-mail Project
We are experimenting a "low budget" way of getting short, quick messages to our Strawberry Point community. The idea came from the 2009 Iowa League of Cities convention. This project, hopefully, will be a way to the Strawberry Point community. You do not need to be a citizen of Strawberry Point to participate. This is currently an experiment that we hope will become permanent. This service is currently being done on a no-cost-to-you and a no-cost-to-our-city basis. The plan is to keep it that way. Resources we currently have and a little volunteer time are being used.
What type of messages might you get with this service? Since this project is in the experimental stage, we are not totally sure but our thoughts are such things as (1) reminders of public meetings, (2) giving notice of when city council agendas and minutes are posted on our web site, (3) reminders of community events, and (4) one-line notifications from the city. Emails will be in text form, not HTML.
