Matt and Jana Hamlett Farms of Strawberry Point, Iowa will be the location for
the 24th annual Hay Expo. The largest demonstration hay event in the nation is
scheduled to take place June 16 and 17, 2010. The two-day show caters to the
large hay grower by showcasing the top manufacturers in the haying industry.
The show site is located off Highway 3, just west of Strawberry Point, Iowa.
Previously, the Hay Expo had been held at this location in 2006. The Hamlett
family farms near Strawberry Point and Arlington, Iowa. Matt and Jana have two
daughters, Jaclyne and Jeanna.
“There are a few things that will be different from the show in 2006.
The dates are earlier and will hopefully fall between first and second cuttings
to allow more farmers to attend,” said Matt Hamlett, Hay Expo host farmer. “Plus
the exhibit field and parking will be in different locations.”
Sponsored by Farm Progress publications,
Wallaces Farmer, Wisconsin Agriculturist
and The Farmer,
the Hay Expo offers a look at new hay and forage technology with an extensive
exhibit field and working demonstrations conducted throughout each day.
The two-day hay extravaganza will showcase mowing, conditioning, baling, hay handling and silage demonstrations on alfalfa and forages. Visitors will be able to compare the various equipment brands operating side-by-side under actual field conditions.
“For the serious hay producer looking to make the most out of their crop, the
Hay Expo is the best possible place to gather information,” said Matt Jungmann,
Farm Progress national shows manager.
A 10-acre exhibit field will highlight displays
from the major and shortline specialty manufacturers, seed, building and storage
facility suppliers, and a range of related product suppliers. Exhibitors plan to
showcase a host of new products aimed at boosting the efficiency and
profitability of hay and forage production.
The
2010 Farm Progress Hay Expo will be held June 16 and 17 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00
p.m. The show site is located off of Highway 3, west of Strawberry Point at the
Matt and Jana Hamlett Farm. Admission is free; parking is $7 per vehicle. The
public is welcome. For more information, visit
