Strawberry Point is a Gateway to
Northeast Iowa. When you travel our area, to the South and West
you will find flat lands while to the North and East you will find senic
rolling hills. You get the best of two worlds. Highways 3 and 13 merge in Strawberry Point. In our town you can visit the Wilder Memorial Museum, the historical Franklin Hotel, take a photo beside the World's Largest Strawberry, and visit Strawberry Point Drug for a refreshing hand-made cherry coke or other beverage at their old-style, marble soda fountain. It is just a short drive to the South takes you to Backbone State Park and the beautiful Backbone Golf and Country Club. A short 15 minute drive to the North and you arrive at the Osborne Nature Center. Just up the road is Elkader, home of the historic Stone Bridge crossing the Turkey River. How about parking your camper in town at Little Bit of Country RV Park (563-933-2081) or at Backbone State Park and using our gateway to places like the Froelich Villiage Museum (the first gasoline tractor and the forerunner of John Deere), fish for some trout in the local streams, enjoy a number of parks, or take the kids to Spook Cave and Effigy Mounds National Monument? If you don't have a camper, check out the rooms at Aunt B's Inn, the historic Franklin Hotel, or the Strawberry Motel (563-933-4485). |
